PetroChina Karamay Petrochemical uses hydrogenation process to produce environmentally friendly rubber oil

The environment-friendly rubber oil developed by PetroChina Karamay Petrochemical Company will make China's automobile tires sold to the European Union "unimpeded" this year ".
As of January 25, the world's largest naphthenic rubber oil producer, Ke Petrochemical Company, has shipped more than 2000 tons of environmentally friendly rubber oil. Previously, the 8000 tons of environmentally friendly rubber oil they produced have been delivered to coastal rubber manufacturers. The price of this domestic environmentally friendly rubber oil is only about half of the price of imported products.
Three years ago, a Taiwanese company asked Ke Petrochemical Company whether it could provide environmentally friendly tire rubber oil to ensure that their products can continue to enter the EU market after the EU 2005/69/EC directive takes effect.
European scientists have found that tire rubber oil extracted from petroleum substances contains eight carcinogens. Tires made of rubber oil containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons will cause environmental pollution and ultimately endanger human health due to friction with the road surface and continuous emission of carcinogens. Accordingly, the EU issued Directive 2005/69/EC: from January 1, 2010, tires entering the EU market shall not be produced with toxic aromatic rubber oil, and environment-friendly tire rubber oil must be used.
Ke Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Research Institute immediately to tackle the problem. Scientific and technical personnel know from the existing literature that Germany and Japan are mainly producing environmentally friendly rubber oil in the world. Both countries use solvent extraction process to separate harmful polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from rubber oil and retain harmless less cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. However, this process cannot eliminate harmful substances from the root, and the production process itself is not environmentally friendly.
Can we use chemical methods to convert harmful substances into harmless substances? Keep harmless less cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons without leaving harmful polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons?
After two years of exploration, researchers found that the hydrogenation process can reduce harmful aromatic hydrocarbons to a harmless level while retaining non-toxic aromatic hydrocarbons. The hydrogenation process of high temperature and high pressure can convert all heterocyclic harmful substances such as sulfur, nitrogen and oxygen into harmless substances.
After finding a solution, the scientific and technical personnel finally overcame the technical difficulties after many tests and trial production. At the beginning of last year, Ke Petrochemical Company sent the trial-produced environmentally friendly rubber oil to a special testing agency in Germany for testing, and three batches were sent for inspection.
"After continuous improvement of process technology, the third batch of products have passed the German inspection." Yang Jianxiang, deputy chief engineer of Ke Petrochemical Company, said: "This shows that our production technology is mature."
Ke Petrochemical Company also commissioned relevant agencies to conduct a domestic and foreign novelty search on the production of environmentally friendly tire rubber oil by environmentally friendly hydrogenation process. The result is that "no literature related to the production of environmentally friendly tire rubber oil by environmentally friendly hydrogenation process".
